What is Form III?
The Immigration and Foreigners Rules, 2025 prescribe Form III for reporting foreign guests accommodated at covered premises. The schedule identifies it as the earlier Form C.
Form III and the older Form C name
Form III is the current prescribed form. The FRRO portal and hospitality discussions may still use Form C, so this page keeps both names clear.
Who needs to report?
Rule 17 applies to keepers of covered accommodation, including hotels, homestays, hostels, paying guest houses, rented accommodation, and similar premises. It includes foreign guests who hold OCI cards.
Information CheckInd helps collect
The live product supports digital foreign guest registration and review of identity and stay details. The broader Form III field-mapped preparation workflow, including its OCI path, remains in development and is not live in production.
Official submission remains with the property
Rule 17 sets separate arrival and departure reporting duties for the accommodation keeper. The keeper must use the designated government portal or application. CheckInd has no authorized government integration and cannot confirm a filing or government acknowledgement.
Form III preparation roadmap
The V2 preparation workflow is on invite-only staging. It supports staff-confirmed actual stay events and operator-entered external filing references there. Deadline automation and independently verified government acknowledgements are not live capabilities.

What is Form III?
Form III is the accommodation-reporting form prescribed under the Immigration and Foreigners Rules, 2025. It was previously called Form C.
Does Form III replace Form C?
Form III is the current prescribed form under the updated framework. Form C remains a familiar historical name and still appears on the FRRO portal.
Does Form III apply to OCI cardholders?
Yes. Rule 17 includes Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders in the accommodation reporting process for covered premises.
Can CheckInd prepare Form III information?
The live product supports digital foreign guest registration. The expanded Form III preparation workflow is being tested on invite-only staging and is not available in production yet.
Does CheckInd automatically submit Form III?
No. CheckInd has no authorized government reporting integration. The accommodation provider must use the designated official process.
Are arrival and departure reports both required?
Rule 17 provides for sending Form III arrival information within 24 hours after arrival and departure details within 24 hours after departure. CheckInd does not submit these reports for a property.
Is CheckInd an official government service?
No. CheckInd is independent hospitality software. It is not a government portal and is not affiliated with FRRO or the Government of India.
